Beloved Sonshine Girl- Barnabas (Barney) JoAnn!
What a joy and honor to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY in this special way to YOU, God's amazing daughter/ son, friend, lover!!!
I was pondering how much we have to be thankful for to our awesome God! So many gifts from His heart and hand. And in His redemptive plan, YOU are one the most magnificent gifts He has given to His Body!!! You are truly the "gift that keeps on giving!"
Do you remember how we met, dear one? I do! One radical Jesus Lover, Pastor Tim Hodge sent both of us an email, saying we just had to meet! We were both friends with Tim and he thought you and I were alike, so he connected us! GOD connected us through Tim! And it has been an "eternal connect." :-)
Over these years I think we have seen each other 2 times (briefly) face to face, but Oh my! In HIS Spirit... we have been so connected... "Thank You Papa!"
So... why do I love JoAnn Parrott? Tons of reasons... here are some praises to Him, not in any particular order:
+"Hats for Hannah"- remember years ago there was a little girl named Hannah. She was 4 or 5 at that time and had a serious and very invasive cancer that had attacked her little body. Hannah had been a member with her family of the last church I pastored. I had been out of touch with this family, but found out about Hannah's illness. I sent her name out to a lot of folks! And YOU were one of them! God did what He so often does with His beloved JoAnn.... He gave you a vision to cover this wee one in PRAYER. You sent out emails to bunches of people asking us to get or make a hat for Hannah, to pray over it, and to mail it to this family. The response was AWESOME. Many responded. Many prayers. Heaven was hit with a ton of petitions from His kids! Hannah wore these beautiful, anointed hats! And Hannah and the family? Wow. Flooded! Flooded with LOVE, prayers, presence of God... LIFE. Precious HOPE- and healing... Wow. Yay God! And today? Hannah is Jr. High age, healthy, cancer free, and singing to HIS glory! Yes, one of the ways she serves Jesus is through a beautiful voice and song to JESUS, her Healer! Yes, JoAnn.... one of the many and eternal ways you impact the world with God's Kingdom!!!

+Ahh... and the "BARNABAS/ SONSHINE Girl" part of you! This part penetrates all your life! It is so much a part of you, that I am sure you seldom ever think about this.... it is just the wake that consistently follows the "Good Ship JoAnn" as she makes her way down the Life River in Jesus! I can cry thinking of times.... times as a minister of the Gospel that I felt weary, discouraged, confused... no idea where to go... not sure IF I could "go" anymore! And there was Barney Parrott!!! An email... a call... a precious FaceBook entry... HOPE, the strength that comes ONLY in His real deal Love... His Agape. Life. Life. Life.

I know we have not always expressed this, but we have a HEART OF GRATITUDE TO HIM AND YOU for this eternal treasure! So, what is it worth to have hope, tenacity, vision, Love- poured into the life of a leader? Jesus said somewhere that if the enemy hits the shepherds, then the sheep are scattered! Woe! So... the converse is true too, I suspect... when you gird up, built up. cover, encourage/ IN-COURAGE the shepherds, you are gathering the sheep close to God's heart! How beautiful the Body of Christ....
Thank you, JoAnn! I know sometimes we have failed to appreciate you... we have misused the precious treasure you are.... but today I pause by your house- I sit at our "pretend" kitchen table, and in sweet "face to face" fellowship- I say- on behalf of all of us- THANK YOU FOR GIVING TO THE LORD... I am/ we are... Lives changed by His grace, love, power through YOU. Yes... not a small thing... a HUGE thing.

THANK YOU. ON THE DAY THAT JOANN WAS BORN AND THEN BORN AGAIN- YOU EXPLODED INTO OUR LIVES IN POWERFUL WAYS WITH MORE, MORE, MORE LOVE. TODAY AWAKEN MORE OF YOU TO/IN HER... BRING ANY DORMANT KINGDOM SEEDS TO LIFE IN THIS SEASON AND EXPLODE AGAIN... MORE.... MORE... THROUGH HER LIFE!
THERE IS SO MUCH MORE THAT YOU ARE DOING IN HER... SO MUCH MORE YOU HAVE PREPARED HER FOR! THANK YOU LORD! AND LORD SURROUND THIS BARNABAS WOMAN WITH THOSE WHO WILL BUILD HER UP, STRENGTHEN HER, LOVE HER IN YOU, PUSH HER OUT OF THE NEST, AND BE A TRUE BARNABAS TO THIS PAUL...
IN JESUS NAME!
THANK YOU FOR OVERFLOWING IN HER LIFE TO THE REST OF US. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, LORD. IN JESUS... AMEN."
Today, dear woman of God- we honor YOU.... as does Papa.
